Gas carrier’s cargo containment system

Type C independent liquid cargo tank

Type "C" stand-alone liquid tanks are typically cylindrical or spherical tanks with design pressures above 2 barG, designed and built according to traditional pressure vessel standards and subjected to accurate stress analysis. This type of cargo enclosure system can be applied to full-pressure, semi-cool, semi-pressurized and fully cooled gas carriers. Type C stand-alone liquid cargo tanks do not require secondary shielding.

Characteristics

  • The design pressure is relatively flexible
  • Suitable for different types of goods
  • No secondary shielding required
  • Easy to build and install
  • Goods can be stored under pressure
  • Evaporative gas treatment is relatively flexible

Type B independent liquid cargo tank

Based on the company's experience in the field of cargo containment systems for gas carriers, LGM has developed an IMO "B" type independent liquid cargo tank for the safe storage of cryogenic liquid natural gas on board. The tank has received DNV Approval in Principle (AIP) certificate.

Features and applications

  • Independent liquid cargo tank with partial shielding
  • Potential liquid leakage is enclosed in a secondary shield
  • Greatly improve safety and economy
  • The hull support structure does not need to use low-temperature steel which reduce the ship building cost.
  • Easy to manufacture and install
  • Suitable for fuel tanks of LNG carriers and cargo tanks of LNG/LPG/LEG ships
